We believe that God has given us a special purpose to accomplish in Transylvania County, NC. Rocky Hill Baptist Church is committed to the Word of God. Our ministry is to strengthen the family which is the foundation of our society. We want to help develop a wholesome attitude towards God, self and others through a meaningful faith relationship with Jesus.
We Place an emphasis on practical needs related to where we live and what we do. We willingly accept people where they are in life. We practice patience as God molds the person into the individual He wants. You will find a challenge to develop your full potential in all areas of life as Jesus becomes the Center of your life.
We seek to make your church experience meaningful and enjoyable. We try to help people understand their relationship to Jesus, and how Jesus adds a dimension to all areas of one*s life. We believe that the Christian life is the greatest and most fulfilling way to live, and we invite you to "Come Grow With Us."
Rocky Hill Baptist Church is affiliated with the Transylvania County Baptist Association, The North Carolina Baptist Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention. We ascribe to the tenants of The Baptist Faith and Message.
History of Rocky Hill Baptist Church

March 11, 1875, Rocky Hill Baptist Church's history starts when the property for the church and cemetary were given by William and Sarah Case

May 2, 1875, Rocky Hill Baptist Church is officially organized

September 20, 1875, Construction on the foundation for the original church building starts. The site of the one room structure is on the present day cemetary grounds

1882, J.H. Duckworth is elected as the first pastor; however, the church ws a member of an unknown association as early as October 12, 1876

February 7, 1883, additional land is sold to the church by Samuel and Martha Case (son of William) for the sum of $100 with free access to a spring adjoining the church property

March 14, 1896, 37/100 of an acre was deeded to Rocky Hill Baptist Church and it's trustees by E.E.Stone and wife, F.L.Stone

1896, construction on a new church was started by members an friends. Lumber for paneling and church was obtained from huge virgin poplar trees, sawed and planed at a sawmill in Cedar Mountain

1953, renovations were made to the church building

1956, parsonage was constructed

1961, Baptistry was installed

Present Day, 35 pastors have served at Rocky Hill Baptist Church
